CORONA TOILET PAPER BASKET

Did you buy too much toilet paper because of corona in spring? Or do you just want to get creative?

I have an idea for you. Why don't you craft a basket made of toilet paper?

For mine I used 100% recycled Toilet paper as I wanted it to be as sustainable as possible.

You may think it looks complicated but actually it isn't too hard it just takes quite a lot of time. But it is a lot of fun!

You need about 6 rolls of toilet paper, hot glue and eventually clothes-pegs and a hair tie.

1. Tie the ends of the toilet paper with the hair tie together and attach it to a doorknob. Braid them into long cords. You need about 4 or 5 cords (4 metres). Tipp: Use rather short pieces of toilet paper as it is easier to braid. You can add the next pieces quite easy into the braid.

2. If you have finished braiding you start by creating the bottom. Therefore you just roll one cord and glue it together properly. If you like you can add one extra round on top of the bottom.

3. Now you can start with the sides. You can create whichever pattern you like. Personally I like organic irregular shapes. This is quite easy as you can follow the natural structure of the cords.

You can do one, two or even more rows.

Tipp: Use clothes-pegs to attach on the glue areas. This way you don't have to hold it until it's dry.

4. Attach another row of cord on top of your pattern to complete it nicely.

If you like you can now add handles or any other decoration you want.

This is it.

I hope I got you inspired and you have a lot of fun crafting!
